Introduction:EPS foam is rot resistant. It is not resistant to sunlight in the long term.&nbs
| EPS foam is rot resistant. It is not resistant to sunlight in the long term. The degradation indicated by the gradual yellowing of the foam surface after a number of week is of such minimal depth that is scarcely has any effect on the normally relatively large from cross section although it could influence subsequent lamination performance. It is advisable not to store foamed parts for periods of weeks in direct sunlight or to use them in exposed positions, especially since the combined action of sunlight, rain and wind can cause progressive erosion of the foam surface. Resistance to these effects improves with increasing density of the moulded product. |
